Equine Assisted Educator Support

The Neuroscience Behind Behavior utilizing equine and canine partners.

Regroup Counseling and Consulting PSC is excited to offer educators the opportunity to learn about student behaviors from a trauma informed and neurobiological approach with an added benefit of animals!

In today’s diverse classrooms, educators often encounter a variety of challenging behaviors that can disrupt learning and hinder student development. This training, "Responding to Behaviors: The Neurobiology Behind Behavior," is designed to equip teachers with the knowledge and strategies they need to understand and respond to behaviors through the lens of neuroscience and trauma-informed care.

Objectives of the Training / Support

  1. Understanding Neuroscience Behind Behavior: Participants will gain insights into how the brain processes trauma and stress and how it is influencing student behavior. We will discuss key neural pathways involved in behavior regulation, including the impact of stress responses on learning and engagement.
  2.  Trauma-Informed Practices: Educators will learn the principles of trauma-informed teaching .We will cover the prevalence of dysregulation among students and understanding its effects on behavior and why the behavior makes sense from a neurobiology understanding.
  3.  Co-Regulation Strategies: The group will emphasize the importance of co-regulation in the classroom setting. Participants will explore techniques for effectively modeling emotional regulation and fostering connections with students to create a supportive atmosphere. This includes practical strategies for engaging students in self-regulation and coping techniques that will benefit the educator as well as the student.
  4. Reduce exclusion of students
  5. Reduce educator burnout
  6. Learn how to teach about the nervous system and use of Calming Corners in a way that is positive for both teacher and student.

MOST IMPORTANT - Feel supported and cared for throughout the process incorporate nature and animals and have a safe space to learn.
